Good people of West Parish,
Tomorrow we enter the month of December, and this Sunday is the start of the Advent season! A new church year!
And while the world around us is frantic with jangly carols and holiday sales and tips for hosting the perfect party, not to mention worrisome world events and the constant onslaught of depressing news - we church folks are encouraged to slow down. To enter a time of expectant waiting. Of watchful anticipation. Of attentive wonder. We will sing melancholy songs with words of longing. Our sanctuary will be decorated, but also draped in purple.
This season calls us to open our eyes, as individuals, as a culture, and as a church. Join us this Sunday as we enter this season together and reflect on the invitation it might have for us.
