Good people of West Parish,
April 4th was the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s murder. There have been remembrances all over the country in speeches, worship services, actions and gatherings. People of every race and from all walks of life have been pausing to remember this prophetic man.
Every time I read his speeches and sermons, I am amazed by how many issues Dr. King addressed. Racism, poverty, militarism, violence, education, peace, global capitalism, the American church - all of these things he challenged, spoke about, and examined through the lens of his faith.
Join us this Sunday when we will hear the words of Jesus, hear the words of Dr. King, and reflect on how their words are still alive.
