Faithful people of West Parish,

We are now in Lent!   On Ash Wednesday, we gathered in the shadows of our gorgeous sanctuary, and sang together, and confessed our brokenness, and I had the great privilege to mark some of you beautiful people with ashes – a sign of our mortality, but also a sign of our ability to be reborn. I've always found Ash Wednesday to be a profoundly sacred time, when being human, being alive, and the fragility and importance of both is brought to the fore.

What a precious gift is this life! And nothing makes our day as full of holiness than living with gratitude for each moment. Our Lenten practices can help us do that! I look forward to journeying with all of you through this season.
