Today I prayed for all the kids getting on the school bus and sitting in an assigned seat. I prayed for all the kids staying home, starting the year on a computer. I prayed for all the little kids, managing a mask at preschool. I prayed for all the parents who nervously sent their kids off to school. I prayed for all the parents trying to supervise remote learning, while also working or tending other children. I prayed for all the teachers and administrators and staff who have ridiculous demands and changes. I prayed for all the grandparents who are worried about their grandkids from afar.
I prayed for all of us today, as we leaned into this moment, trying to find connection and joy in the midst of a messy and strange situation.
We are with you parents and teachers and kids! And you are in our prayers. Remember that wherever you are learning, teaching or supporting, that God's strength remains with you! This is hard. And we will get through it. And you are not alone.
