It’s Sunday Cool!
We took the “School” out of Sundays and replaced it with “Cool”.
Welcome to West Parish Church’s religious education program for Pre-K through Grade 5. “Sunday Cool” (Cool stands for “Children of Our Lord”) promises to be the highlight of your child’s week! Our innovative curriculum engages the kids with all sorts of exciting activities like cooking, drama, storytelling, music, videos, art, puppetry and computers. Plus, we augment our regular curriculum with a variety of special activities, service projects and worship services. We’re sure your child will keep asking, “Is it Sunday yet?!”
A few important things to note:
· Students should arrive in the sanctuary each Sunday for the opening of the 10:00 am worship service. The kids will leave the sanctuary together with their leaders immediately after the Children’s Message.
· As the children leave the sanctuary each week, they will have the opportunity to make a small donation for the benefit of Compassion International’s BiteBack Program to buy Malaria nets for impoverished families in Africa (www.Biteback). Our goal is to raise $500 which will buy 50 nets.
· This year’s Sunday Cool theme is “Peace Be with You!” Many of our classes, service projects and special activities will highlight Bible stories related to peace and on ways that kids can be peacemakers in their families, schools and communities. In addition, the children will spend time focusing on the seasons, colors and traditions related to the church year.
· Classes end at 11:15 am regardless of when the service ends. In order to facilitate a smooth sign-out process and to encourage camaraderie within the church family, all Sunday Cool crews will meet together in the Music Room for a closing prayer and for pick up by a parent or older sibling (Middle School or older). Please arrive at the Music Room promptly at 11:15 am. |
