Christian Education

At West Parish Church, we believe Christian Education is a lifelong process. It is a personal and a communal experience of developing and living our faith. When education is infused with the transforming love of God, the reconciling message of Jesus, and the faithful presence of the Holy Spirit, it becomes a vehicle to change lives and to make a difference in the world.

Families of every kind are welcome at WPC.  All are welcome -- whether reluctant, shy, boisterous, squirmy, opinionated, or skeptical.  We welcome each person with open arms, as Jesus did.  We seek to nurture spiritual life by passing on the sacred stories and faith practices of our Christian heritage, laying a foundation for a life-long journey of faith.

Our programs

Nursery Care

Although infants and toddlers are always welcomed in our worship services, nursery care from birth up is available in a clean, colorful room. The nursery is staffed by trained, caring, responsible teenagers and adults. When parents would like to be with their children in the nursery room, audio can be piped in from the sanctuary

Youth Groups

The social and academic pressures of youth are hard! Youth need a place to belong, to be affirmed whoever they are, and to ponder what is truly meaningful in life. Youth group is also about good, clean FUN!

Middle School and High School Youth meet on the first Sunday of the month from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Meetings are full of games, sharing, discussion, and service.  Special activities are held throughout the year, such as  mission trips.  All youth are welcome to join!

Sunday School

Wonder, learn, create, and play! Children attend the worship service with their caregiver for the first 10 minutes until Sunday School teachers bring them to class.  There is a younger class, 4 years through 2nd grade, and an older class, 3rd grade and up. Children get to know and care for each other, hear sacred stories and then have times to respond to the stories with art, movement, and play.

Confirmation is a year-long class with the minister where youth explore Christianity deeply, and join the church as full members if they feel called. Beginning in the eighth grade, youth decide whether they want to participate.

Confirmation happens every other year.   The next confirmation class is scheduled for Fall 2018.

Family Events

Throughout the year, enjoy fellowship with other families!  All members of the church are welcome to attend.  These activities include
