Household of Faith

This Sunday is the Annual Meeting of our congregation, when we will tend to the business of our "household" of faith: the finances and leadership and organization, just as any household might do. This is OUR house, each one of us supporting our community with our money, time, skill and prayers. We are a church rooted in the congregational tradition, thus the congregation runs the church -- not the pastor, not the bishop, not the denomination. So we need you to be a part of our life together! Join us!

On Sunday we will also reflect on the epistle reading set for the Fourth Sunday after Epiphany, which is from 1 Corinthians 13: Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude... While we may have heard this passage at weddings, it is NOT about marriage! It is about how we treat one another in community. A perfect reading for Annual Meeting Sunday!

Good People, there is SO MUCH news assaulting us - truly terrifying news! - and we all need a place of peace. Let us strengthen the foundations of our house of faith so that West Parish might be that haven for each one of us, that shelter in the storm, that sanctuary for all who need a place of love.
