Spectacular Sunday

This past Sunday was spectacular! Fourteen of our young people wrote original reflections, led the prayers, did the words of welcome, announcements and Benediction. Another four of our young people participated by ringing the bell, lighting the candles, or working in the nursery. And another five kids were with us to worship. TWENTY-THREE kids, from toddlers to teenagers, were part of the Body of Christ on Sunday.

While scheduling challenges in today's busy world make it near-impossible for families to be at church with the same regularity as the "old days", we need to celebrate loudly and joyfully that our community includes so many young people who WANT to be a part of church. They WANT to belong. May we do all that we can to continue to welcome them, include them, listen to them and affirm them.

And thank you all so much for making Sunday's "picnic" happen - from coordinating to grilling in the rain to making food to setup and clean up to welcoming new folks - it was a marvelous celebration of the West Parish community! Thank you!
